Another great reason to learn Spanish before your vacation!
A lot of Arizonans visit Mexico for summer vacation, but travelers beware. People who speak Spanish have a strong advantage when it comes to getting the better deals on purchases when traveling.

Translation: Jugo de Naranja means Orange Juice in Spanish. So if you don’t speak Spanish then you have to pay $1 more for the same juice everyone else gets for $4. Ouch.

lol… awesome capture :-)… I find that speaking Spanish helps you get deals sometimes even at home… Although not all the time, I have gotten a discount or a freebie a couple of times just by ordering my food in Spanish rather than English while in LA.

Hola!
It is definintely a HUGE plus to know some Spanish before you go on vacation! Bartering with Spanish speakers, in Spanish, is also a great reason why! When I was in Spain, and was spoken to in English by the vendors, I would say, “No, en Espanol”. Did I get a better deal, for being able to speak in Spanish to them? Maybe, but I felt confident doing it!
It’s great to be able to speak to the locals, and to get a real taste for the culture, if you do know how to speak the language.
